University participates in National Schools Film Week

Martin Flanagan, of the Film and Media Studies team, will be talking to schools from the Bolton area as part of National Schools Film Week, which is organised by Film Education. NSFW is billed as ‘the World’s Largest Festival for Cinema and Young People’. Martin will be introducing the German reunification comedy Goodbye Lenin! (Wolfgang Becker, 2003) at Cineworld in Bolton on the 20th October. More information can be found at www.nsfw.org

Just published by Palgrave Macmillan, authored by Martin Flanagan, Programme Leader for Film & Media Studies in AME. The book applies the work of  influential Russian theorist Mikhail Bakhtin to a series of contemporary Hollywood films including Die Hard, The Incredibles and Lone Star.
